BiographyBrooks Robertson was born in 1989 in Eugene Oregon, and began playing guitar when he was 12 years old. His father took him to the Nokie Edwards (former guitarist with the Ventures) Festival near Eugene , whereupon a famous Nashville fingerstyle guitarist; Buster B. Jones performed on stage. After hearing the flying fingers of Jones, Brooks turned to his father and said; "That's the kind of guitar music I'd like to learn." As fate would happen, Buster B. Jones moved to Eugene a month later, and one week after arriving he was rushed into emergency surgery to correct a severe stomach condition. Buster had to cancel all of his performances and took several months to become healthy again. It was during this recovery that Brooks became a student of Buster's. Six months later Brooks debuted at the third Nokie Edwards Festival with Buster, and was endorsed on stage by the Godin guitar company, receiving one of their multiac classical guitars. One month later, Brooks performed on stage with Buster at the Chet Atkins Appreciation Society in Nashville Tennessee , where he met some of the world's best finger/thumbpickers. Brooks has learned the guitar techniques of Merle Travis, Chet Atkins, Jerry Reed, and Buster B. Jones. Brooks is now 16 years old and nearing completion of his first CD. In 2004, he won the Prairie Home Companion talent show in St. Paul , MN . Past Performances
