DESCRIPTION:The annual CAAS Convention is held over four amazing days 
 every year in mid-July at the Music City Sheraton Hotel and Convention
  Center. Attendees enjoy four fully-packed days and nights of the musi
 c of Chet, which has impacted so many of us. The styles you'll hear ra
 nge from gypsy jazz in the style of Django Reinhart --- as well as cla
 ssical, pop, country -- to the music of Merle Travis and Jerry Reed --
  a musical legacy spanning six decades. Along the Chet's memorable leg
 acy, you'll experience the music of those whom he has influenced, who 
 now take his music and their own all over the world. The performers at
  the convention are a virtual Who's Who of the guitar world. Past conv
 entions have featured appearances by such greats as Jerry Reed, Earl K
 lugh, Steve Wariner, Albert Lee, Brent Mason, Tommy Emmanuel, Paul Yan
 dell, Doc Watson, Mark O'Connor, Jorge Morel, Suzy Bogguss, Boots Rand
 olph, Los Indios Tabajaras, and a host of other world-class performers
 . Each year the convention hosts around 60 guest artists, who perform 
 main stage concerts, intimate close-up sessions, and top-notch worksho
 ps for attendees.\n\nEach day begins with an attendee's open mike sess
 ion on the main stage, followed by artist performances and workshops u
 ntil the lunch break. After lunch, the performances continue, along wi
 th workshops and up-close performances, all running concurrently on th
 e stages and in nearby meeting rooms. Each night, there are concerts o
 n the main stage until late evening. The event culminates on Saturday 
 night with a gala Chet Atkins tribute concert, featuring special guest
 s from the Nashville pantheon of performers, as well as international 
 guest artists. Along with musical performances and workshops, you'll f
 ind tons of jam session opportunities, and a vendor area with guitar m
 akers, and companies like Gretsch Guitars and Mel Bay Publishing.\n\nT
