To Our Guitar playing friends in Southern Oregon:

We are starting the Southern Oregon Guitar Society to encourage each other in our playing and bring an occasional concert to the area. We are starting off with a concert and teaching time by a very good finger style guitarist, Brooks Robertson. We think if we can get enough interest from other guitarists in South Oregon, we can do this on a regular basis and all enjoy and learn from some of the better players around. The first “event”, will be in Roseburg at the Alliance Church on Garden Valley Blvd. If we can get everyone to pitch in ten dollars for this, we can pay a stipend to the artist and get your money’s worth in direct feedback from the artist.  The more folks that come, the more likely we can do this again on a regular basis. SOGS (Southern Oregon Guitar Society) is an idea whose time I believe has come. The idea is from Bob Malone and myself (Dan Bedford). We are not in this to make money, but to share ideas and playing skills with other guitarists of Southern Oregon.

The first event will be October 8^th (Saturday) at the Alliance Church in Roseburg, from 6 to 8PM. Let us know what you think? Feedback is the only way we will know.
